A Bristol man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison after he admitted raping a young girl in the 1990's.

Kelvin Noble, of Kingswood, Bristol, was arrested following an investigation by Operation Bluestone, Bristol's dedicated team to tackle rape and sexual assault.

The 57-year-old pleaded guilty at Bristol Crown Court following a disclosure from a woman who was sexually abused between 1993 and 1995.

DC Andy Coggins said: "Rape and sexual assault is a heinous crime that many victims try to deal with alone.

"The sentence passed today on Kelvin Noble sends a clear message to anyone who may have committed rape or sexual assault - crimes like this will not be tolerated.”
