Clash of the Titans review

Dir: Louis Leterrier; Starring: Liam Neeson; Ralph Fiennes; Gemma Arterton

12A cert; 118 mins

Clash of the Titans started off with promise as you watch the 3D intro which brings you up to speed if you are unsure of your greek mythology.

This is essentially the story of Perseus - and his battle against Hades. The whole experience leaves one somewhat cold and wondering what you've actually done for the last 118 minutes.

The visual effects seemed low budget and unimpressive, even medusa failed to stir much of a reaction.

None of the acting was memorable and you might find it hard to really care about any of the main protagonists. Sam Worthington's portrayal of Perseus lacked lustre and a decent accent.

The viewer is left looking for something of worth in this flat yarn - come on Pete Postlethwaite - you were good in In the name of the Father - but no, even he can't make the script sound any good.

Overall unimpressive - the only highlights which come to mind are the black stallion which has been enhanced with the use of CGI to become Perseus's pegasus, and that I forgot to give back my 3D specs, oops.
